Denver Botanic Gardens Summer 2019 Coordinated Bioblitzes

Learn to use iNaturalist to make observations of mushrooms.

Denver Botanic Gardens’ staff member Kent Schnacke is coordinating bioblitzes in the Denver Area. CMS members are welcome to contribute to the survey of fungi for these regional bioblitzes.

Please note that these WILL NOT be “collecting” forays, but forays where you can learn to use iNaturalist to work alongside botany volunteers to make mushroom observations. Denver Botanic Gardens’ experts and volunteers can then contribute by adding IDs to your observations.

Below is the original call for the bioblitz. Contact Kent to register for one of the iNaturalist courses and to join a bioblitz.

Help Gardens botanists blitz the High Line Canal! Denver Botanic Gardens and the High Line Canal Conservancy will be holding several bioblitzes this summer to observe plant species along this recreational greenway. How many plant species can you find? Hone your identification skills and learn about the importance of plant biodiversity. To sign up, reach out to Kent Schnacke, Botany Education and Outreach Seasonal.
